Winter Is over (Hopefully)

New England Winters
Winter in New England is alway harsh and as you know, has the ability to destroy anything. Ice, snow sleet, rain and just about anything you can think of has been thrown at us this year. Luckily, salt helps keep the roads clean and ice free as you travel Massachusetts.
However, this salt destroys New England vehicles acting as a catalyst for rust to form on your car. Salts’ corrosive nature can create many problems for vehicles functionally and aesthetically.
Car frames are made of steel and when exposed to water and salt for extended periods of time (the winter) begin to rust and lose their integrity. If this cycle of getting wet and drying with salt continues cars and trucks can become structurally unsafe.
Other parts such as exhausts and general nuts and bolts also can become damaged, rotting away from the rust causing you a pricey trip to the mechanic.
As salt sits on the exterior of the car the paint of the vehicle can be damaged from its strength. Road salt can eat through anything as just the smallest paint chip can be a perfect spot for rust to form. Vehicle’s paint can also be damaged as rust destroys any wax that may have been on the paint.
As cars sit in the sun without wax the paint begins to harden and crack over time (this is known as clear coat failure). This is easily avoidable with a consistent application of wax to protect your paint from UV rays and debris from clinging to it.
How HCA Detailing Can Help
You may now be wondering, how can I prevent this damage from occurring? What options do I have? HCA Detailing has the perfect spring cleaning solution to start the spring off on the right foot.
For the entire month of March we will be offering Undercarriage Pressure washing for free when a detail is booked! This prevents salt, dirt and rust build up from accumulating on the undercarriage of a vehicle and damage from these corrosive substances.
In addition to the undercarriage wash, our Silver Package will knock off that winter salt with a hand wash, and protection will be added to the paint with a paint sealant (P&S Bead Maker).
Not only does the paint sealant protect your paint from the elements it drastically enhances shine making your car look like it just rolled off the lot.
